A Note from the Principal –
Dear Wilson Families!
It was wonderful to gather as a Wildcat community at our recent Wellness Fair. Thank you, Kate Stone, Wilson staff and volunteers for leading a positive time, focused on healthy choices. At our assembly, I was able to share pictures and video clips highlighting some of the fun activities. The 5th grade Leadership team helped me unveil our Fabulous Finish Baskets and I challenged our students to finish the school year strong with positive academic and behavior choices as well. Next year, our school wide challenge will be focused on wellness and I look forward to sharing more details with you when school resumes in September!
Our literacy and math curriculum have been designed around a full school year and at the end of the year we strive for consistency, despite all the memorable field trips and activities our teachers have planned. We look forward to seeing your students each and every day for the remainder of the school year whether it is in the classroom or on the playground! Over the next week and a half, we will be celebrating former Wildcat students with the graduation walk of high schoolers through our halls, Field Day, PBIS (positive behavior) raffle, and so much more. Thank you Wilson families for partnering with us throughout this year and helping us to create great memories!
Finally, I want to say thank you to our fifth grade students who have been a winsome group at Wilson. I am thankful to be a parent and live in this community where I continue to see this group shine. It has been a joy to serve this class and I am excited for their special week at outdoor school as a positive culmination of their elementary school experience.
As you head into the summer months, I encourage you to read and play games together with family and friends! The Corvallis Public Library offers a great summer reading program with unique events and activities.
Parent June Check List
With the end of the year coming up fast, we have some tips to share for closing out the school year! Thank you for your help taking care of any of the pieces below that apply to you and/or your student(s).
- Are they missing any clothing or other items? The Lost and Found areas at school are overflowing. Please stop by and take a look! Please note: all items left at end of day on June 20th will be donated to charity on June 21st.
- Did you drop off medication for a child during the school year? You will need to pick it up before the end of the school year. Please be sure to drop by the office and complete the process.
- Are your meal accounts balanced or do you owe money? Please check your meal account balances and deposit funds if they are needed. This is very important!
- Do you have school library books at your house? All library books are due back no later than Monday, June 11th.
Message from the PTA Board
Hello Wilson Families,
Hard to believe, but the school year is almost finished and summer is upon us! The PTA would like to thank everyone who has volunteered this year and attended or supported our school events. We are so appreciative of each and every one of you, and hope all our Wilson families and staff enjoy a wonderful break!
Our current board members are also changing over this month. Come fall you will have some new and fresh faces to see at our general meetings. Each of us has enjoyed our time representing the board and feel thankful for the opportunities it has presented us. Many of us plan to continue our support of Wilson PTA, so we’ll still be involved. For the 2018-2019 school year; Shanna Cox will be our President, Chris Burr will remain on as our Treasurer, and David Fry will be our Secretary. Aubrey Eveland-DeWan and Adi Holmboe will serve as our Co-Volunteer Coordinators. We are excited to have them aboard!
The final PTA meeting for this school year meeting will be Tuesday, June 12th at 6:30pm at the Wilson Library. We’d love to hear your ideas and input. Please join us!
