Dear Wilson Families,
I enjoyed the chance to visit with families these past few days during the conference time. The projects in the gym for the Knowledge Fair were amazing. Each year, my mom and dad come down on Tuesday for the student interviews about projects. At the end of the day, my mom always calls to tell me that the Wilson kids are so amazing! It’s true! I am so thankful for each of every one of them and the privilege I have to serve as their principal.
Yesterday we added a picture of our OBOB (Oregon Battle of Books) champions, the princess ninja fruits, on the front of our website (wilsonwildcats.net) with a congratulations message. They worked really hard reading books, practicing together, and preparing for regionals. They are not college or professional basketball players, but they had their March madness canceled. Like many of our students and families, they are working through the disappointment as many planned events are being canceled. We also have an amazing school choir and they were not able to sing at the retirement home, at our school assembly, or have their Wilson concert. My heart goes out to our great kids, as they are learning along with us how to be flexible and thank you as always for providing our Wildcats with support at home. I just hope our kids know how proud we are of their efforts! We will be communicating any other cancellations or postponed events in the coming days.
In addition to contacting our district, do not hesitate to reach out to our office if you have questions or if we can be of help.
A message from our district came out today regarding the mandated cancellation of school through the month of March. The message includes information on how we can support our kids and families during this public health crisis.
